Chevel is a distinguished and award-winning poet who has engaged audiences from New York City to Westchester County for more than ten years. She has previously worked as a co-author and has published two poetry collections. Writing has always been her primary outlet, passion, and greatest source of happiness. As a certified artist in New Rochelle, NY, she takes pleasure in creating vivid imagery through her writing. Currently, she is developing captivating narratives in both fiction and inspirational genres. In 2023, she launched her debut fiction novel, “My Gay Ain’t Happy,” which is intended to be part of a series, and in 2024, she published an inspirational book titled “Magnificently You.” Furthermore, she is actively working on the next two volumes of the “My Gay Ain’t Happy” series.

Toni Morrison, one of her esteemed idols, once remarked, "If there's a book that you want to read, but it hasn't been written yet, then you must write it." This profound quote serves as a source of inspiration for Chevel. She is committed to writing only those narratives that resonate with her and deliberately avoids confining herself to a single genre. Chevel aspires to uncover and share a multitude of stories and inspirations for the enjoyment of others.

She has been a resident of New York for her entire life, continually striving to enhance her knowledge on a daily basis.
